SaladoConfigurator is a GUI to configure the XML settings for the SaladoPlayer, written in Java.

The actual SaladoConfigurator is for the SaladoPlayer 1.2

Features:
Not all possibilities of the SaladoPlayer can be manipulated, but the most important like:

• creating/editing panoramas
• setting hotspots (image and swf) on panoramas
• creating/editing actions
• editing most of available modules
  • Waypoints on the ImageMap
  • etc.

1. Run application

This app requires at least Java 1.6. If you are not sure if you have Java installed, or what version do you have, check your Java version and update if nessesary.

In order to run application double click on SaladoConfigurator.jar

2. Requirements

You need an already existing directory/file structure.

You can start with the one of SaladoPlayer

For simplier positioning the hotspots (image/swf), you additionally need the original equirectangular panorama. Perhaps this is changed later to the existing cubic files.

3. Notes

If some settings are not specifically described, they are given in the configuration of the SaladoPlayer.

All file links are relativ to the file "index.html". With one exception of the image file for the panoramas. This is an extra xml tag, not used in SaladoPlayer.

All values that are default, are cleared from the xml file.

4.1. Load xml settings

Here you must load the "index.html". The needed xml file was automatically located and loaded.

    

To import a previous version of SaladoPlayer you can choose the needed version.
Not all XML tags are converted, but the most important.

 

4.2. Save xml settings

Save the changed settings directly in the originaly file.

There are up to 20 backup files in the same directory where the xml settings are.

 

4.3. Load last xml settings

If checked, the last file with the xml settings is automatically loaded on application start.

 

4.4. Quit

Quit the programm and ask for saving the xml settings.

4.5. Panorama settings

Select the desired image to show in the SaladoConfigurator to place a hotspot.

 

The preview of the hotspots on the equirectangular panorama is excact.

 

The preview of the hotspots on the cubic panorama is not excact.

Using the Configurator

All entries with paths can be changed, by simple clicking with the mouse on the edit field. A file chooser will be opened.

6. Edition Actions

6.1.1. add / delete / rename action

To add a new action, you must type a new name in the "id" combobox and then press the button "add".

To delete an action, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "del".

Also all links to this action are removed.

To rename an action, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "ren".

Also all links to this action are renamed.

 

6.1.2. add / delete function

An action can have one or more functions.

For this you can press the add or delete button under the function selection.

To add a new function, you must simple press the button. A new (automatically named) function is availabe in the selection box.

To delete a function, just select someone in the "function" combobox and press the button "remove".

 

7. Editing panoramas and positioning hotspots

7.1. Panorama settings

7.1.1. add / delete / rename panorama

To add a new panorama, you must type a new name in the "id" combobox and then press the button "add".

To delete a panorama, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "del".

Also all links to this panorama and all links of the included hotpots are removed.

To rename a panorama, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "ren".

Also all links to this panorama are renamed.

 

7.1.2. image file

This is a link to the original equirectangular image. It is needed for visual positioning the hotspots.

 

7.2. Hotspot settings

Here you can set a simple hotspot with an hotspot image (Hotspot Image) or you can use an advanced hotspot with a swf file (#Swf Hotspots)

7.2.1. add / delete / rename hotspot

To add a new hotspot, you must type a new name in the "id" combobox and then press the button "add".

There is a check for identically id in any other hotspot in any panorama.

To delete a hotspot, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "del".

Also all links to this hotspot are removed.

To rename a hotspot, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "ren".

Also all links to this hotspot are renamed.

 

7.2.2. pan / tilt

The pan/tilt can be edited manually or you can use the mouse on the image.

With the mouse you must right click. Choose the context "set hotspot". The mouse coordinates are calculated to pan/tilt.

The hotspot blinks only, to find him better. The hotspot is not blinking in the SaladoPlayer.

7.2.3. direction

The direction can be edited manually or you can use the mouse on the image.

With the mouse you must right click. Choose the context "set direction". The mouse coordinates are calculated to direction.

8. Selecting modules

Here you can choose the disiered modules.

Modules that are deactivated on saving, are erased from the xml file.

Modules that are not listed here, remain unchanged in the xml file.

9. Waypoints on ImageMap

The possible waypoints are the panoramaIds.

 

10. InfoBubbles

10.1.1. add / delete / rename infoBubble

To add a new infoBubble, you must type a new name in the "id" combobox and then press the button "add".

To delete an infoBubble, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "del".

Also all links to this infoBubble are removed.

To rename an infoBubble, just select someone in the "id" combobox and press the button "ren".

Also all links to this infoBubble are renamed.

 

10.1.2. Create InfoBubble

Additional tool for creating easely an InfoBubble.

1. load the desired image
2. press the left mouse button and select the desired detail
3. type a text
4. press the button "create"
5. save the image to the other infoBubbles

To drag the selection, press the mouse button inside the rect and move it whiel the mouse button is pressed.
